Ryan Frederick and Paul Fontaine are back to go over the week that was and is to come in the world of MMA. The talk of the sport this week was Bo Nickal, who earned a UFC contract on the final episode of this season's Dana White Contender Series. He couldn't have looked better and has already been booked for his UFC debut later this year on a PPV main card and Ryan and Paul talk all about it. They then go over what was a busy weekend of MMA with One on Prime Video 2 featuring Angela Lee challenging for the strawweight title in the main event and Bellator 286, headlined by a Patricio Pitbull title defence over Adam Borics. They then break down the UFC show from a closed set in Las Vegas. Mark Zuckerberg wanted to watch a UFC show and didn't want anyone around while he did it so we got a return to empty arenas for one week. At least that's the working theory since Dana White isn't talking. The show itself was good, headlined by a somewhat controversial main event which showcased some of the issues with the current scoring system as Yan Xiaonan defeated Mackenzie Dern via majority decision. The guys talk about the scoring as well as the dead atmosphere at the Apex before breaking down the rest of the card. Ryan caps things off with some news items including the announcement of Bellator lightweight Grand Prix in 2023 and a main event for the first UFC PPV in January.
