Less than a day and a half before the Mr. McMahon Netflix documentary series is set to debut, Vince McMahon posted a message about what he believes is an unfair portrayal, based on what he wrote was an early cut of the documentary.

The part of his statement that seemed to create the most headlines was his description of Janel Grant's lawsuit as being based on an affair rather than what she and her lawyers claim as sexual abuse.
Reporter and friend of the site B.J. Bethel reached out to Grant's lawyer Ann Callis for a response.

Other news coming out before the release of the documentary is a note from Matthew Belloni's Puck newsletter, What I'm Hearing....
He noted that filmmaker Chris Smith was nearly done with the film in 2022 prior to McMahon being forced out of the company before returning the next year. That story was added to the documentary. Belloni wrote that McMahon saw an early cut of the movie and became nervous.
But McMahon was still nervous about the doc, and after seeing early footage, he actually tried to buy the project back from Netflix, per two sources familiar.
Netflix refused, even after Ari Emanuel tried to step in per Belloni.
The film was supposed to come out in March 2024, but after the Grant lawsuit was filed in late January, Smith had to revise the film once again.
I will be writing about Mr. McMahon on this website after it's released and will be recording a podcast with Dave Meltzer which will be on F4WOnline.com.
