Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite, TBS has given us our biggest overrun ever for tonight's action, could be a half hour or more!
TONIGHT, 8pm ET/7pm CT
That's not the only announcement today.
I can't wait to celebrate with all of you on TBS tonight!
But those following social media would've also seen a story from Variety about AEW's TV renewal with Warner Brothers Discovery.
Some of the more interesting tidbits from the story:
- The deal is for upwards of $150 million per year "when all elements are taken into account." That's smaller than what John Ourand reported, but could also be the minimum number based on escalators, or mean that they haven't quite figured out the PPV arm yet.
- There was mention of AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision, but no AEW Rampage.
- AEW programming will stream on Max simultaneously for US subscribers and be available "on-demand" starting in January.
- And this paragraph which will make a lot of fans happy:
Furthermore, AEW live pay-per-views will be available on Max later in 2025 at a discounted price per event, with all marketing and promotions of those events exclusively centered on Max.
What that doesn't tell us exactly is if it will be part of the rumored sports tier. If you need a Max subscription to order the PPV, even making it $29.99 for certain tiered subscribers isn't that much of a discount.
