I didn't realize so many people would get such a kick out of my silly joke Twitter response to the Young Bucks posting a photo of taking a selfie with Shane McMahon.

But it can't be a coincidence that roughly two months after Tony Khan and Shane McMahon were photographed together, Shane McMahon and the Young Bucks would be seen together. Or maybe it is a coincidence; a coincidence they could take advantage of to keep people talking.
With MVP, and probably Bobby Lashley, signing up to be All Elite, it does show that Tony Khan is still interested in adding ex-WWE talent. Shane himself was one of the few sympathetic figures in the Mr. McMahon docuseries on Netflix. Would it be a surprise at all if Shane showed up on AEW television?
But is it something that AEW fans want? It's quite possible that some of the folks who embraced AEW at the beginning as a non-McMahons product have already moved away from what AEW has become. For those who are still there and believe in Tony's vision, would adding a McMahon to a show that worked early on due in part to not being Vince McMahon's vision of wrestling push more people way? It's definitely an interesting possibility.
With Khan's new television deal pretty much done, does it even matter if they push some of the people who watched originally away? Wrestling fans are a fickle bunch, just like any fanbase that is built off trends of what's cool. The key is to create more cool and not get stagnant. Would 54-year-old Shane McMahon be that cool? Well, maybe his Air Jordans. But probably not.
It's still fascinating to think about; the son of Vince McMahon joining the opposition to run against the company his father built, and didn't intend to hand down to him.
