It's time for what may be a historical heavyweight title fight. Follow along with our Fury Vs Usyk live coverage.
Fury Vs Usyk round-by-round
Round 1
Even though Fury is lighter in weight by his standards, he's still a giant by comparison. He's throwing punches on a downward slope while Usyk is coming wider and over the top. Fury landed a good right hand, but Usyk landed an overhand left and had him in the corner late in the round. I'd give that round to Usyk.
Round 2
Because of the size difference, you'd think Fury would be super jab heavy. For the second round in a row, he allowed himself to be backed into the corner where Usyk landed a nice combination. Fury mugged at him like he did in the first round. Fury came back with a right hand of his own. Would still go Usyk there.
Round 3
Fury is fighting overly defensive to the point that he's not throwing enough power punches. Usyk is setting the pace and he's landing the better shots. Fury might be playing possum a bit, but Usyk also looks in much better shape.
Round 4
This was an excellent Fury round. He picked up his punch output. He knocked Usyk off-balanced on a shot and then stung him with an uppercut. Usyk stayed busy, but Fury landed his cleanest shots so far and for the first time in the fight, made Usyk feel his size. I have Usyk up 3-1 so far.
Round 5
In the last round, they clashed heads and Usyk has a small cut but there's no blood. This was another great Fury round. He's really making Usyk feel the size difference. He was digging into the body and this round, Usyk looked the worst for the wear when it came to stamina.
Round 6
Fury has completely turned this fight upside down. He blasted Usyk with a few power shots that made Usyk stumble a bit. It's also slowed down his pressure because he's being stopped by the different angles of Fury's shots. He ate an uppercut right up the middle.
Round 7
Usyk may have won another round, but it also seemed that Fury took that round off. Usyk was finally able to land his left to the head again and also landed his right hook. Fury mostly moved around, but did land a lead uppercut that was more like a jab than an actual power shot.
Round 8
This was another Usyk round. He found some life. Usyk landed a few big left hands that pushed Fury back and now Fury has some blood around his right eye.
Round 9
I had this scored as a close round for Fury until about the last 30 seconds in the round. Usyk knocked him loopy three times, but Fury's understanding of where he was in the ring and really, his length that allowed him to find the ropes saved him. The referee called a knockdown as he slumped in the corner and he was saved by the bell.
Round 10
Usyk let him off the hook in the round. He started to pressure him but felt an uppercut and took his foot off the gas. I gave that round to Fury slightly, but it's mostly because his single punch dictated the round and gave him a chance to get back into it.
Round 11
Interesting round for both. It was paced like a Fury round, but Usyk landed the biggest shot, which was at the bell. I still gave it to Fury because he was busier.
Round 12
Strong back and forth round to close it. It was Usyk's round before Fury landed two stiff right hands, but Usyk came back late to land big shots to win the round. He should also win this fight. I have it as Usyk 115-112.
Winner: Oleksandr Usyk by split decision
The scores were 115-112 and 114-113 for Usyk and 114-113 for Fury.
