Are Jay White and David Finlay on a collision course for January?

David Finlay is currently IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and he is set to collide with Hirooki Goto next week at the King of Pro Wrestling event on October 14th for that same title, which you can watch on NJPWWorld.

There’s some conventional logic that says Goto could win the Global Title this weekend. There's also a thought that Finlay has held the title for so long and has already created a legacy by felling Yoshi-Hashi, SANADA, Nic Nemeth, as well as defeating Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay to win it initially.

If Finlay were to retain, it would set him up going into Wrestle Kingdom and Wrestle Dynasty as a prominent and dominant heel champion of Bullet Club. In a recent interview on NJPW1972.com, Finlay expressed a desire to wrestle Jay White, the former leader of Bullet Club whom he dispatched after an Eddie Kingston match in early 2023 in San Jose.

Jay White has recently returned from injury as a newly turned babyface in an upcoming match against Hangman Adam Page at WrestleDream this Saturday and has expressed his own desire to challenge for the AEW World Championship. Could White and Finlay face each other at the Tokyo Dome in January, whether it be a singles match, for a title, or with two factions of Bullet Club going to battle? It feels like the time may now finally be right for the match to happen.
