2021 AEW Dynamite Fight of the Fallen Recap: Jericho vs Gage, Elite vs Dark Order, CM Punk is on his way | The Dynamite Show (Rewind)

On this very special episode of the Dynamite Show, Paul Fontaine and Jeff Hawkins go back in time to July 28, 2021 for AEW's annual Fight for the Fallen special episode of AEW Dynamite. Jeff gives a lay of the land of where things were at in the AEW vs WWE war and they were as close at that time as they'd ever been and ever would be. They then recap a memorable episode which included:

• A 10-man tag between the Elite and the Dark Order with Hangman Page that tied in with Space Jam and set up what was supposed to be the main event for All Out 2021
• MJF hiring Nick Gage as part of his Five Labors of Jericho series of matches which resulted in AEW losing some sponsorship
• A Tony Khan announcement of an upcoming special live event which would end up being the debut of CM Punk
• Darby Allin calling out Punk without mentioning his name
• Hiroshi Tanahashi making a surprise taped appearance on the show as part of AEW's newly established relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling
• A Jon Moxley promo that is a little uncomfortable to watch in hindsight but was still very good
