SummerSlam Live Coverage – Roman Reigns Vs Brock Lesnar

If you haven’t checked it out yet, read Steven Conway’s Guide To SummerSlam. You can catch up on all that’s happening for that show.

We’ll be back for live coverage of the main show.

Becky Lynch Vs Bianca Belair

These women are going fast. There’s not a lot of selling here. It’s more like an AEW opening match (without the crazy flying) than a WWE match. There’s a lot of moves happening and it makes you wonder if they had less time than planned.

There was a count out tease which was a little weird. They didn’t sell it long enough for it to be believable.

Becky hit the ManHandle slam for a two count. Bianca hit a Spanish Fly. She hit a big-time KOD and pinned Becky.

Winner: Bianca Belair

The bigger thing was after the match. Becky shook Bianca’s hand and they hugged. Then Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Io Shirai all came out and got into the ring before Becky came to Bianca’s side. Triple H is already putting his stamp on WWE.

The Miz Vs Logan Paul

Logan Paul is a much better athlete than I even realized. He’s adapted to WWE very well here. He did a dive to the outside. He did a high cross body and then followed up with a standing moonsault.

Tommaso Ciampa, who was with Miz and Maryse, jumped to the apron, and was kicked out by the referee, but he decided to do a sit in, but AJ Styles came out to send him back.

Off the long break, Paul hit a Phenomenal Forearm for a two count. He also hit a crazy frog splash to the outside.

Maryse came to the apron and the Miz was going to hit Paul with a foreign object but he moved and nearly hit Maryse. Paul then hit the Skull Crushing Finale to win the match.

Winner: Logan Paul

Austin Theory Vs Bobby Lashley

Theory attacked him with the briefcase before the match started. Lashley suplexed him, delayed style. He went for a spear, but Theory jumped and Lashley went into the turnbuckle.

Theory somersaulted into the ring right into a Lashley press slam. And then he submitted in the Hurt Lock. Pretty quick match.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

Finn Balor & Damian Priest Vs. Rey & Dominik Mysterio

It’s a no DQ match.

It’s amazing how much more Rey shines more than Dominik at his age, but as an all-time great, I guess no one should be surprised.

The entire match was built to Edge returning. There was very little outside interference otherwise, except for Rhea Ripley pulled both Rey and Dominik out of the ring.

Edge came out and speared both Priest and Balor. Rey pinned Priest after a double 619 and the splash.

Rey & Dominik Mysterio

Baron Corbin Vs. Pat McAfee

The entire match was set up for McAfee to get his low blow kick back on Corbin. McAfee did some pretty solid high spots to the outside including a Swanton and he also hit a nice superplex. The match wasn’t nearly as good as the Logan Paul match.

The referee was bumped and McAfee hit Corbin low to set up a version of a sunset flip from the second rope to win the match.

Winner: Pat McAfee

Street Profits Vs The Usos

It seems like if there’s a time to break up the Profits, it’s now. They lost again to the Usos with the 1D.

Ford hit an insane frog splash but sold his ribs which delayed his pin. He was also upset at referee Jeff Jarrett for some reason, which makes you wonder if he’s going to turn heel.

The match never really got going because the only ending that would’ve made it a better match than the others is if the Street Profits were to win, but they didn’t. Solid stuff as per normal, but nothing fantastic. Match felt a bit like a lame duck.

Matt Riddle came out, only for Seth Rollins to kill him even more.

Ronda Rousey Vs Liv Morgan

You see, what had happened was…

Ronda kept putting Liv in armbar after armbar. Liv went to the corner selling her arm. Ronda put another armbar on her but her shoulder was down and she was pinned right as Liv tapped. Brutal.

Winner: Liv Morgan

Ronda beat up Morgan and the referee after.

Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar

Brock came down the aisle driving a tractor.

This match is like every other Roman and Brock match, except there are just 10 counts. Brock’s back was cut up after going through a table.

The fans aren’t buying any of these long counts. It’s possible that the crowd is waiting for Austin Theory to come out.

Brock used the bucket on the tractor to drop Roman back into the ring. Lots of selling for Roman.

Brock used the tractor to lift up the ring and Roman rolled out of it and onto the floor. The Usos came out and Brock tossed them both on their heads. Paul Heyman told Brock to leave his Tribal Chief alone and he gave him a F5 through the table. Roman speared Brock and they both got up at nine.

Austin Theory came out. He hit Roman with the briefcase and was about to cash in, but Brock gave him a F5. Reigns speared him again. Brock got up at nine. Then he speared him again. Brock got up at nine again. Roman got the briefcase and hammered Brock with it. Brock got up at nine. Roman hit him with the belt. Brock got up at nine. He hit him with the other belt and then piled pieces of the announcer’s table and the steps on top of Brock and stood on top of it to win.

Winner: Roman Reigns
