Night one is over and night two is nearly upon us. Will night two have as many WrestleMania moments as night one did?
We’ll be covering it here from start to finish. Also, we’ll be live after the show talking about it on our YouTube channel. You can set a reminder here: https://youtu.be/4dGc4F14pUk.
Here’s our live stream after night one:
We’ll be back for the beginning of night two of WrestleMania 38.
Triple H came out to start the show.
— WWE on BT Sport (@btsportwwe) April 4, 2022
He left his boots in the ring.
Gable Steveson was introduced next. I’m pretty sure we also saw him yesterday.
RK-Bro Vs The Street Profits Vs Alpha Academy
Triple threat rules are always a bit funky when it comes to the psychology of the match and this is no different.
After some early action, Orton made a hot tag at the same time as Montez Ford who is also a babyface so the fans were like, I guess we like the Orton hot tag best.
It was all the about the moves and a great way to open the show. Riddle hit a RKO from the top rope on Ford which was tremendous.

Orton won the match after hitting an RKO on Chad Gable who was diving off the top rope.
RK-Bro and the Street Profits were celebrating in the ring with the red cups and they invited Gable Steveson into the ring. Chad Gable knocked his cup down and had to eat a suplex from Steveson.
Omos Vs Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley the wrestler started this match against Omos the Giant by throwing a high kick. It didn’t go well.
Omos is playing the Andre role well here. He pressed slammed Lashley over his head. Lashley dove at him and he caught him in a bear hug. Lashley suplexed him to a big crowd reaction and then speared him to his back which looked weird because of how Omos had to take the bump. Then he speared him for real and pinned him.
Winner: Bobby Lashley
Sami Zayn Vs Johnny Knoxville
This was all about the Jackass universe. Party Boy came out and Pat McAfee made about 10 jokes about his buttcheeks. Wee Man came out from under the ring and then when he got into the ring, body slammed Zayn. Sami took a bowling ball to his testicles while sitting in the corner. And took another one with a boot attached to a contraption.
Knoxville won using a mousetrap to keep Zayn’s shoulders down.
This was entertainingly awful, and thank you Pat McAfee for keeping me entertained.
Winner: Johnny Knoxville
Sasha Banks & Naomi Vs Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan Vs Shayna Baszler & Natalya Vs Queen Zelina & Carmela
Match was built so that everyone had a chance to win and the crowd had no idea who was going to win. And whenever it looked like someone was going to win, they had the camera shot where you couldn’t see the interference. They did this for nearly every pinfall attempt.
Thankfully, the ace of the women’s division, Sasha Banks pinned Carmela who wore a lingerie version of a wedding dress. Corey Graves wasn’t too excited about that one.
Winner: Sasha Banks & Naomi
AJ Styles Vs Edge
AJ has a cut near his cheek. The story is that it’s from his pyro going off.
The beginning of this match was slow. Deliberately slow. AJ’s shoulder was hurt and it was part of the story for the rest of the match.
Finally, they woke up the crowd with a suplex by Styles to Edge on the edge of the apron. He then did a springboard 450 onto Edge’s back for a two count. Styles missed the Phenomenal Forearm, but then jumped over Edge’s spear attempt and hit him with the Styles Clash for a two. Damian Priest showed up out of nowhere and distracted AJ who went for the Phenomenal Forearm again, but the hesitation meant that Edge speared him in midair and won the match.
Priest came into the ring and he and Edge smiled together and raised their arms.
New Day Vs Sheamus & Ridge Holland
The New Day came out in Big E gear.
There wasn’t much to this match. Woods did some Big E spots to shout out his brother. Ridge pinned Woods soon thereafter.
Sheamus & Ridge Holland
Austin Theory Vs Pat McAfee
Vince walked out first to announce Theory.
Billion Dollar Selfie. #WrestleMania
— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) April 4, 2022
McAfee got a great entrance with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders coming out first. He also punted a football into the crowd.
McAfee’s stage presence is tremendous. Everything he does means something. He beat on Theory outside and jumped on the headset to give play by play of his beating ala the Rock. He got back into the ring and missed a swanton. Theory took over, but then McAfee leapt to the top rope which Theory was sitting upon and then hit a superplex.
He missed a punt and Theory went low to his knees. McAfee cradled him to win.
Winner: Pat McAfee
McAfee went to all the corners to pose and then called out Vince. Vince teased getting in the ring and then walked away but then decided to get in the ring. He took off his shirt and tie and was in a tank top.
Austin Theory attacked McAfee from behind and then a referee rung the bell. I guess we have another match. Vince kept hitting McAfee with clotheslines. Or, McAfee kept running into his arm. He fired up and was about to go after him, but Theory tripped him and ran him into the post groin first. Vince kicked him and pinned him.
Austin came out. Vince gave it away two seconds early after he reacted to Theory’s music being played. Austin and Vince drank beers and then Austin stunned him.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon is the gift that keeps on giving!
— WWE on BT Sport (@btsportwwe) April 4, 2022
Then Austin and McAfee drank beers together. And Austin stunned him too.
Roman Reigns Vs Brock Lesnar
Right out of the gate, Brock gives Roman the over the head suplexes. Heyman suckered Brock on the outside and Roman speared him through the barricade. Reigns hit the spear after Brock barely made it in before the ten count and got a two count. Reigns hit some superman punches but Brock laughed through them and started his German suplex series. Reigns hit another superman punch and was setting up for a spear but Brock caught him and hit the F-5 for a two count.
We have our first ref bump and then low blow by Reigns. Reigns knocked him down with a belt shot, but Brock kicked out. Brock had him in the kimura. Reigns said his shoulder was hurt. Then he speared Brock and won. Match hadn’t even really hit high gear yet.
Winner: Roman Reigns
