Speedball Mike Bailey signs with IMPACT Wrestling
The deal became official when Scott D’Amore offered a contract to the Canadian independent wrestling standout moments after his match at Destiny Wrestling on Sunday night. He signed the contract on the back of Josh Alexander. Alexander signed his IMPACT contract in a similar ceremony three years earlier after winning the Destiny Wrestling championship. Bailey had been banned from entering the U.S for five years after an incident in 2016 at the Canadian border where he was caught by authorities trying to enter without a work visa. Prior to the incident, Bailey had become one of the top names on the independent scene. This is a great pickup by IMPACT.

- According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, AEW is planning a “Battle of the Belts” special on TNT on January 8. This would be head-to-head with IMPACT’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view. Bound for Glory was pushed back two hours to avoid competing with AEW’s Dynamite which aired on a special Saturday due to the NHL. I could see a similar situation happening with Hard to Kill or IMPACT could move the show to a different date like they did with Rebellion in April, when they moved from Saturday to Sunday to avoid the UFC.
AEW is planning a TNT Special on Jan 8th.
They're obviously not able to use the name "Clash of the Champions" due to WWE owning the rights…
However, I'm hearing the possible name for this show will be "Battle of the Belts" A throwback to NWA/CFW from pic.twitter.com/hjuOqpIHGf

- Jonah Rock (FKA Bronson Reed) told Wrestling Inc that the reason he was unbooked for Bound for Glory was due to his immigration status. Regarding when we could see him wrestling again (via Fightful):
As of next week, things should be set in stone for me to be able to work places. I’m not gonna say anything, but I think November, you’ll get to see JONAH around some places.
- At NJoA’s “Battle in the Valley” event, Moose will take on Juice Robinson and Josh Alexander will compete against Yuya Uemura. The event airs November 13 on FITE TV and will emanate from San Jose, California. As of this writing, it has not been announced if Moose’s newly won IMPACT World Championship will be on the line.
- Former ROH Pure champion Jonathan Gresham has pulled out of his appearance at Vacationland Pro Wrestling on November 20. IMPACT’s Turning Point event is on that same night. It could be a total coincidence, however Gresham coming to IMPACT would make a lot of sense, considering his style and the fact that his wife Jordynne Grace is already there.
The October episode of IMPACT! on AXS TV averaged 100,000 viewers with a 0.03 demo. Once again, the show did not make the Showbuzz Top 150 this week. Total viewership is up from last weeks 93,000 and the demo is up from last weeks 0.02. The season three finale of Dark Side of the Ring averaged 154,000 with a 0.06 rating for the Vince McMahon Steroid Trial episode. Dark Side of the Ring airs head to head with IMPACT’s second hour and has taken its toll on the shows ratings. Since the second half of season three premiered, IMPACT has only appeared in the Showbuzz Top 150 twice, and has not reached their average 0.04 rating from the previous quarter.
