We’ll back once the PPV begins for our UFC 261 main card live coverage. If you want to read up more on the event, check out Ryan Frederick’s Guide To UFC 261. He has everything you need to prepare for the show.
Jimmy Crute Vs Anthony Smith
Smith is snapping Crute’s head back with a great jab. Crute is throwing low leg kicks to Smith’s front leg and it’s going to be a problem soon. Crute’s face is already swollen. Smith kicked him right above the knee and Crute couldn’t control his foot. His foot kept falling to the side as if he had drop foot syndrome. After the first round ended, the referee stopped the fight because he was basically walking on one leg.
Winner: Anthony Smith by way of 1st round TKO
Chris Weidman Vs Uriah Hall
Chris Weidman threw a leg kick and his shin snapped. He didn’t even recognize it until he tried to land the foot back and it just collapsed. The fight is over. Weidman’s career might be over.
Winner: Uriah Hall by way of 1st round TKO
Jéssica Andrade Vs Valentina Shevchenko
Valentina Shevchenko scored five takedowns, landed the most important shots, and even had a rear naked choke attempt on the ground. Andrade has her work cut out for her to say the least.
Round two wasn’t much better. Andrade tried to use her power with Shevchenko and Shevchenko used it against her twice and took her down. Finally, Shevchenko put her in a crucifix position and Andrade was defenseless to Shevchenko’s elbows and punches from that position. She busted her open.
Winner: Valentina Shevchenko by way of 2nd round TKO
Rose Namajunas Vs Zhang Weili
For the first 45 seconds or so, I thought that these two women were very closely matched and it could be about who lands the hardest shots. And just as I was thinking that, Namajunas threw a high left leg kid and Weili ate it flush and went out. Amazing.

Winner: Rose Namajunas by 1st round KO
Jorge Masvidal Vs Kamaru Usman
Usman landed a really nice right hand which stung and probably surprised Masvidal. Masvidal landed one as well that put Usman on notice. Masvidal threw a flying knee, which took him off his feet and prone to get slammed by Usman. Usman held him down. Masvidal threw some back elbows to try and keep him from being so comfy. He used the cage to get back up. Usman landed another right hand and then a jab, but Masvidal was still more comfy on the feet and ended the round well. First round was Usman.
At just over the minute mark Usman pushed his left hand out there and and snuck a giant right hand behind it. Masvidal wasn’t completely out, but as he was on the ground, Usman hit him with hammer fists on the ground and he went out.
