in your house live coverage

We’ll have NXT TakeOver: In Your House live coverage once the main card begins. If you want to read a great preview, check out Chris Aiken’s preview of the show.

Shotzi Blackheart, Tegan Nox, & Mia Yim Vs Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez, & Candice LeRae

They got everyone involved early. Blackheart did a tope, but she was caught by Gonzalez. Yim did one that landed. Then LeRae did a springboard plancha onto the pile before Nox did a front flip dive onto the pile.

Two teases early between Kai and Gonzalez. Kai missed her running big boot in the corner and nearly hit Gonzalez. Then she got sent back and bonked Gonzalez. LeRae and Yim fought to the back making it two on two.

Kai kicked Gonzalez with a big boot. Blackheart and Nox kicked Gonzalez to the outside and then Nox gave Kai the Shiniest Wizard for the pin.

Winner: Shotzi Blackheart, Tegan Nox, & Mia Yim

Damian Priest Vs Finn Balor

Balor started out quickly as he wanted to get immediate revenge. They went outside and Priest was setting up the ring steps in some way. Balor went for the sling blade, but Priest caught him and dropped him back-first on the apron.

The rhythm is Balor finally hitting a move as part of his comeback, but Priest gets the advantage back. On the outside, Priest put him in the Razor’s Edge position and dropped him back-first again onto the apron.

Priest did a big splash turned into a back elbow into the corner twice, before Balor caught him in a sling blade. Balor went to the top, but Priest caught him up there and gave him a chokeslam for a two count.

Priest was going to Razor’s Edge Balor from the apron to the floor, but Balor got out and Priest nest-tea plunged backward onto the ring steps. Balor then hit the coup de grâce twice for the win.

Winner: Finn Balor

Johnny Gargano Vs Keith Lee

Gargano walked by a photo of Doc Hendrix before entering the ring. Lee has Black Lives Matter on the back of his trunks.

My worry with this match is in order for this match to make sense, you’re not playing to each wrestler’s strengths. Lee has to sell way too much which isn’t his strong suit. And Gargano has to do way more chickenshit heel stuff which he’s good at, but it means he does less wrestling.

They’ve called back to both Lee’s eye and his fingers, but neither seems to be affecting him in any way.

Lee went for his Jackhammer-ish move and Gargano turned it into a small package for a two. That was awesome.

Lee pounced Gargano through the plexiglass.

Gargano raked the eyes with a key and then did a springboard DDT from outside the ring for a two count. Gargano is getting superkick happy for near falls.

Lee finally hit two powerbombs and then his Big Bang Catastrophe for the win.

Winner: Keith Lee

Adam Cole Vs Velveteen Dream

It’s a backlot brawl. They look to be outside somewhere in a parking lot with a ring in the middle. They’re surrounded by cars and trucks with the headlights turned on. It looks to be shot on film.

Dream brought a bat in. Cole tried to leave in one of the cars and Dream started bashing the car. Dream’s overly dramatic selling isn’t working well in what is essentially a street fight near cars. Some of the moves aren’t actual street fighting moves.

Dream started trash talking, which is helping as well as being more aggressive. They were fighting on a ladder and a loud horn threw Dream off and Cole started to climb the ladder before Dream pushed him off right onto the windshield of one of the cars.

The Undisputed Era came out and so did Dexter Lumis. Back in the ring, Cole went for the Panama Sunrise, but Dream countered it into the Dream Driver. Dream had Cole sitting on a chair and he did the Randy Savage elbow from the top for a two.

Cole hit Dream low while and then hit the Panama Sunrise on top of a pile of chairs for the three.

Winner: Adam Cole

Karrion Kross Vs Tommaso Ciampa

Kross was killing him early with suplexes. He tossed Ciampa back first against the side of the ring. Ciampa got his comeback and started running wild. He hit a quick DDT with Kross draped over the middle rope.

Kross hit the F5 and then got a choke for a win. No tap though.

Winner: Karrion Kross

Rhea Ripley Vs Io Shirai Vs Charlotte

Charlotte played scaredy cat heel early on, not wanting to get into the ring until Io and Rhea started fighting. Charlotte took both of them out. She tossed Rhea into the barricade and then after taking a hurricanrana from Io, threw Io into Rhea.

Charlotte worked on Io with a Boston Crab that looked more like a Walls of Jericho. Rhea came in like a house on fire and hit Charlotte with a clothesline and a boot. Io got some run of offense.

Charlotte hit the Natural Selection on Io for two. She went for the Figure Eight until Ripley broke it up. Charlotte and Rhea brawled outside and we didn’t see Io for a bit. She went to the top of the house which is part of the set and leapt off it onto both.

Charlotte brought the kendo stick into the ring. She hit Rhea and then hit Rhea with a great spear. She put the Figure Four on her and then bridged into the Figure Eight. Io did a moonsault onto Rhea and she pinned her. Unfortunately, Charlotte’s foot was locked onto Rhea so it looked like a balky finish.

Winner: Io Shirai
