Our second month of We Want Flair segments is in the books.
Ric Flair’s last days in WCW is the subject of the latest We Want Flair series of segments. We’ve put all of those segments into one YouTube video.
John and I discuss the fallout from the Tokyo Dome match with Tatsumi Fujinami, where WCW was heading in the spring of 1991, and wondered why the re-match itself wasn’t promoted very well.
We then look at the match as well as a lot of that inaugural Super Brawl card from 1991 before discussing the entire demise of his run in WCW. We talk about the frustration coming from both sides, what the original plan was for the Great American Bash, who Flair was supposed to lose to who would eventually lose to Lex Luger, and what his role may have been if he stayed in WCW after losing the title.
The video is above and our March We Want Flair segments will surround Flair’s 1988 Starrcade match with Lex Luger.
