On The Fight Game Podcast, GG talks about how Goldberg could’ve beaten the Fiend rather than how they did it.
At WWE’s Super Showdown, months of WrestleMania planning was tossed aside as Bill Goldberg beat the Fiend quickly to win the Universal Championship. It’s been said that Vince McMahon was unhappy with the direction of WrestleMania from the Smackdown side and simply changed his mind on the main Smackdown match, which was probably going to be Roman Reigns versus the Fiend at WrestleMania. After the show in Saudi Arabia, it is probably going to be Roman vs Goldberg instead.
On today’s The Fight Game Podcast, I told my co-host John LaRocca that you could’ve saved the Fiend character and still put the title on Goldberg.

If the happy, go lucky Bray Wyatt loses, he’d always have an excuse in his back pocket that it wasn’t the Fiend who lost. And we could see the Fiend re-debut at WrestleMania against John Cena. But that one isn’t going to happen and too much damage may be done to the character now.
