Check out our Team McGregor vs Team Faber recap for episode five.
After the last fight, McGregor picked Saul Rogers to take on Billy Quarantillo in the next fight.
Urijah thinks Rogers gets desperate for takedowns and won’t be able to do so against Quarantillo.
Both teams go out to dinner to get some relaxation. Oh, and to also drink. Conor looked at the menu and just told the waitress to bring all of it.
Connor missed the weigh-in, which allowed Faber to make fun of his big old head. Rogers looks impressive on the scale. He looks huge for 155. Quarantillo looks like a more natural 155’er.
Chris Gruetzemacher is homesick and tired of being in the house. He just wants to get his fights over with and go home.
Saul Rogers Vs Billy Quarantillo
Rogers dominated the entire first round. Quarantillo was down early and playing defense from his guard, but Rogers was easily controlling every aspect of the octagon. Quarantillo wasn’t on his feet until right at the end of the round.
The second round was pretty much the same as the first. Rogers smelled blood late and tried to finish him on the ground, but he couldn’t get the finish. Quarantillo looked out of his league.
Winner: Saul Rogers by way of unanimous decision
Faber told his fighters that you can’t win off your back. He said Billy’s strategy was to make it a war on the feet and in the first round, took a bad shot instead and it was all downhill from there.
The next fight will be Mehdi Baghdad vs Julian Erosa. Baghdad told him he was going to hurt him really badly.
Final thoughts: It’s possible that simply nothing is happening in the house as the lead-up to the fight has been bland for the last two shows. And even Faber and McGregor are pals.
