Sam Sicilia Vs Akira Corassani

Sicilia was the hunter in this one while Corassani was moving around and counter striking. Sicilia threw an uppercut that landed and then followed up with a haymaker that knocked Corassani out.

Winner: Sam Sicilia by way of 1st round TKO

Ryan Bader Vs Phil Davis

It’s a fight between two wrestlers who probably won’t be able to take each other down and that’s what the first round was about. It turned into a kickboxing fight but not a good one. Both guys have improved on the feet, but it was a bit sloppy in the first.

Davis is having some success with kicks, but is mostly playing defense. He doesn’t want to get hit with Bader’s power hand. They were clenched together and Phil had his hands around Bader and was landing knees. Bader grabbed a leg but couldn’t get him down. Davis ended up in the dominant position with Bader on all fours. But they were up quickly back to clenching.

The third round was a little rough and hard to score. But guys were fighting hard, but cancelling each other out as far as what they do well. Bader was better with his hands while Davis was better with the feet. Bader got a huge takedown at the end of the fight and bloodied Davis’ eye. Toss up to me.

Gegard Mousasi Vs Dan Henderson

Henderson was loading up with that right hand like you’d expect. Mousasi landed an overhand right, which hit Henderson on top of his head. Hendo went down slowly and looked dazed. His hands were down and it looked like Mousasi was ready to unload. But the referee stopped it. Henderson went after a leg, but I’m not sure what grabbing a leg would’ve done at that point. Mousasi was ready to unleash on him until the referee stepped in.

Anthony Johnson Vs Alexander Gustafsson

Gustafsson accidentally poked Rumble in the eye to stop it early. When they started up again, Rumble caught him with a right hand and Gustafsson went down. Gustafsson was back up on his feet but wasn’t solid. Rumble kept on him and Gustafsson was trying to fight back. He never caught his bearings. Rumble put him down again and Gustafsson covered up on all fours and couldn’t get out of that spot and the fight was stopped.
