No Brock Lesnar? Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella try to make up for it.

The main storyline was concerned Stephanie McMahon trying to get Brie Bella to drop the charges stemming from last week’s arrest.
There were two main segments with Stephanie. The first was at the end of the first hour. Triple H came out and did most of the talking while Stephanie was in the background sad as can be. Or maybe ashamed. Or both. Triple H was angry at the fans (again) because of how they cheered Steph’s arrest and current sadness. Stephanie wanted to clear up the misunderstanding between her and Brie.
Then came Jericho. Jericho did a slightly toned down version of his act with her when he used to call her a filthy, blah, blah, blah, trash bag ho. They didn’t let him get to the ho part. He also got the crowd to sing, “Bad boy, bad boy, what ya gonna do, what ya gonna do when we come for you,” as an ode to the TV show Cops.
Jericho wanted a match with Bray Wyatt, but instead got one with Seth Rollins. So much for Steph clearing up her misunderstanding. It’d have to wait a couple hours.
(Their match went to a no-contest after Jericho was jumped by Bray and the Wyatts.)
In the last segment of the show, Stephanie invited out Brie to the ring. Brie immediately called her a rich bitch. Stephanie tried to bargain with her. She’d not treat her sister Nikki poorly anymore. Nope. She’d give her a raise. Okay, maybe. Brie wanted one thing most of all and that was her job back. Stephanie said one Bella was more than enough. But then she relented. Then Brie said she also wanted a match at SummerSlam. Brie was ready to give her Paige’s title shot so quickly until Brie said she wanted one with Steph. Steph pretended like she couldn’t wrestle anymore. She didn’t want to do it. Brie said then she would see Steph in court. Finally, Steph did the worst fake cry of all time (which made it great) and accepted the match and then slapped Brie off the apron and started laughing.
They did a pull apart that wasn’t quite Bobby Lashley and Umaga but was good in its own right to end the show. I wish they could use other ways to describe each other than calling each other bitches but overall, it was strong. I imagine they’ll do another pull apart on the go-home show.
John Cena fears Brock Lesnar.
Cena cut an interesting promo to start the show.
He tried to portray someone who was scared, but was talking himself through his fear and would overcome in the end. This really taxed Cena’s acting chops and while he didn’t really pull it off completely, it was good enough to get the point across. He can be so awkward sometimes.
He knows that Brock Lesnar is going to destroy him but in the end, because of his passion for the business that Brock doesn’t have (didn’t he use that one on the Rock?), which he compared to Paul Heyman and ECW which was not the best transition, he was going to win. He kept saying it was his job, which made it a little weird.
Heyman did come out and said that Brock was going to victimize Cena.
Cesaro came out and basically said that Cena was a muscle head and not a real wrestler. They had a match and Cena proved him right by trying a hurracanrana and falling right on the back of his head. The match was fine as the crowd loved it, but it was sloppy. Cena won with the super FU.

– Randy Orton needs to take Roman Reigns out per Triple if he wants his title shot back.
– Paige tried to say that she’s still best friends with AJ. AJ didn’t agree. Paige called her crazy. They brawled a bit.
– Dolph Ziggler and the Usos beat the Miz and Rybaxel when Dolph pinned Ryback.
– Of all people, R-Truth broke Bo Dallas’ winning streak.
– Zeb Colter heated up the Jack Swagger vs Rusev feud and Swagger sent him packing.
– Adam Rose defeated Damian “Spaceman” Sandow.
– Kane was set to take on Roman Reigns and Randy Orton attacked him and laid him out, including two RKOs on the announcer’s table, the second one which finally broke the table.
– Diego of all people beat Fandango who is still befuddled whenever Summer Rae and Layla come out with his opponents.
– Naomi and Natalya beat Alicia Fox and Cameron when Naomi made Cameron submit.
Final thoughts
The show was good in setting up SummerSlam. But the wrestling was sparse and limited. And no Brock Lesnar?
