Follow along our The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 Episode 9 recap.
The last middleweight fight of the first round of the tournament is Warlley from Chael’s team against Marmota from Wanderlei’s team. Chael says if Marmota beats his guy, he’s going to tell Dana White to sign him immediately. That’s how confident he is in his guy.
Chael says he can’t believe Marmota is better than his guy. Warlley’s teammates were trying to tell him that he comes off as an asshole because of his demeanor when he gets inside the octagon. They asked him to tone it down a bit, but he doesn’t agree and doesn’t want to change.
Chael and Wanderlei have to do what looks like agility drills with a soccer ball for their coach’s challenge. Chael beat him fairly easily and was better with the soccer ball than Wanderlei was. Wanderlei said he’d get the last laugh. Chael received money which I think he was splitting with his team as well as a signed Pele jersey.
Wanderlie replaced Dida with Master Doria, a boxing coach.
The fighters and octagon girls had a pool party that included playing spin the bottle. Yes, they are adults.
Lot of time spent on Warlley and not on Marmota. We’ll see if that makes any difference in who wins this fight. Chael tells Warlley that he’s the best boxer, wrestler, jiu-jitsu guy in the house, and is mean as hell. They’re either setting him up for a big win or a big failure.
Ismael “Marmota” De Jesus Vs. Warlley Alves
This was a quick one. Warlley had Marmota up against the cage, landed a knee to the face which buckled him, another knee to the face as he was trying to catch his balance, and another that put his lights out. The cage was the only thing holding Marmota up.
Winner: Warlley Alves by 1st round TKO
Next week is the last of the first round match-ups as heavyweights Pezao and Jollyson get after it.
