Excuse my language, but as you can tell, I’m very unhappy with how Daniel Bryan is being booked.
Daniel Bryan is a pussy.
This is like booking Stone Cold Steve Austin, only the opposite.
Let me get this straight. After Daniel Bryan overcomes kendo sticks, chairs, ring steps, being back dropped onto the hood of vehicles, and everything else Kane threw at him at Extreme Rules, Bryan is now more scared of the Big Red Machine than ever?
And after finally getting over on the Authority by beating them all at WrestleMania and then beating their chosen monster at Extreme Rules, Stephanie continues to outsmart Bryan and his wife Brie? So you’re trying to tell me that Daniel Bryan is scared of the dark, scared of Kane’s mask, and scared of Kane sitting up even though he beat the monster already? This stuff makes zero sense.
The worst part of it is that most of his running away has to do with his fear for Brie’s safety. If you’re such a heroic husband, how about you stop letting her follow you around on TV and be threatened by Kane over and over?
Stephanie first warned Bryan to stay away from Kane, then wouldn’t let him and Brie leave when they were freaked out over the mask and then had him face Alberto Del Rio who he beat. Then they tried to leave again, the car wouldn’t start, Kane was sitting in the backseat, and Brie screamed like it someone told her to pretend she was kind of scared. It was just the worst.
Sheamus is the new US champion.
The show started with Dean Ambrose having to defend his US title in a 20 man battle royal. How sensical is that? Not very. I guess we’re supposed to believe that the Authority is so dastardly that they would put Ambrose into a match that he would have a hard time winning. If they were so dastardly, why didn’t they just do another handicap match?
It came down to Sheamus and Ambrose and after Ambrose held on so many times, he could not hold on against Sheamus. If this kicks off a heel turn for Sheamus, it might be okay, though he could do it without the belt. But if not, it’s kind of a waste. You could’ve given it to Rusev or Dolph Ziggler, or Cody Rhodes, or someone be creative with the title. Sheamus needs that title like he needs a tan. Wait, I think I got that wrong.
This seemed like a waste.
The Shield vs. The Wyatts main event the show.
The Wyatts won the main event after Bray pinned Roman Reigns with the Sister Abigail after Evolution interfered. The Shield handled the interference in fine fashion. Reigns hit the Superman punch on Triple H (or Batista as I couldn’t really tell), but Bray was waiting for him.
Evolution then beat up Reigns after the match, doing the triple power bomb on him.
Other tidbits
– RVD beat Cesaro by DQ after Cesaro wouldn’t break after a five count when he had RVD tied up in the corner.
– Bray Wyatt cut a promo and ended with his favorite song, which is started to get old quickly.
– Ryback beat Cody Rhodes to further along the Goldust and Cody breakup storyline. Goldust was pushed into Cody when he was on the top rope.
– Alexander Rusev beat Kofi Kingston. Kingston was in the battle royal and didn’t do anything fun by the way.
– Bad News Barrett beat Big E again.
– They put together a Mr. T video for Mother’s Day using his Hall of Fame speech about his mother. It was the best thing on the show.
– Adam Rose finally debuted with his party friends. Zeb Colter was in the ring with Jack Swagger and wanted to deport people. Rose and crew came into the ring dancing. Swagger charged him and he was dumped over the top. And then Rose and crew danced around Colter in a circle. Colter’s reaction to the dancing was the best thing about this.
Final thoughts
This show sucked. The last three Raws have been average at best and poor at worst. Bryan is being booked nearly as badly as Rey Mysterio was in his first title run. And based on the booking, Payback looks like Evolution vs. The Shield again which is fine with me, but also, Bryan vs. Kane again, which sucks.
