The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 Episode 4 Recap

Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 Episode 4 Recap

Last episode was the first real episode and one can only imagine how many near fights Wanderlei and Chael get into before the season is out. Follow along our Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 Episode 4 recap.

Even though Team Silva won, there was some descension with the team in some of the commentary, thinking that it was negative rather than positive. Wanderlei squashed it immediately so they could move on.

He also announced that the first heavyweight fight would be Antônio Carlos Junior vs. Edgard Castaldelli.

(For some reason, the Fight Pass feed now has Chael’s comments dubbed in Portuguese, which makes it hard to understand what he’s saying.)

Edgard tells him that they should put on a show. They are very friendly with each other. Carlos Junior didn’t actually watch Edgard’s fight, but he says he believes in his coaches.

Edgard has a baby on the way but he has to stay in the house. Chael and Hortencia wonder if they should try to use that for motivation. Chael thinks they should just let him know that he’s worked hard and just want him to perform to the best of his ability.

Isabel tried to keep Carlos Junior confident, reminding him that he was Wanderlei’s first choice. She gets the team to do an exercise where they circle around and fire four volleyballs at each other, but have to communicate with each other and use their peripheral vision to make sure they could keep all four balls in the air. I’m not sure what good it had to do with fighting, but it looked like fun.

Hortencia’s exercise for Team Sonnen was sort of like flag football, but with basketballs. They had to dribble the ball and not allow their flag (which was a jersey tucked into their shorts) to get pulled. She wanted to remind them that they are a team but this is a singular sport.

Some of the Team Sonnen members seem to like him and respect him as a coach, but may still root for Wanderlei in their fight.

Carlos Junior is a small heavyweight at just over 209 pounds. I don’t think Edgard weighed much more but his weight wasn’t announced (at least in English). If either made it to the UFC, they’d both fight at light heavyweight or even smaller.

Edgard Castaldelli (Magrao) Vs. Antonio Carlos Junior (Cara De Sapato)

That was fast. Carlos Junior landed his first right hand, dropped Edgard and finished him on the ground.

Winner: Antonio Carlos Junior by way of 1st round TKO

Wanderlei shook Chael’s hand but it was because he’s a good sport and nothing more.

The two teams played a Survivor-like game in the mud after the fight that was sort of misplaced, but Team Silva won again. It could be a challenge of some sort that ties into the show.
