Instead, it’s Alexis Davis as tweeted by Dana White Friday evening.
Ronda Rousey vs Alexis Davis Saturday, July 5th for the women’s bantamweight title in Las Vegas for International Fight Week!!!
— Dana White (@danawhite) April 12, 2014
Davis has won her last five fights, including a submission win over Four Horsewomen member Shayna Baszler in January of 2013. She’s 3-0 since entering the UFC, defeating Rosi Sexton, Liz Carmouche, and Jessica Eye, all by decision.
So what does that mean about Carano who met with White on Wednesday? Does it mean that she won’t be back? Does it mean that she feels the need to get a fight or two under her belt before challenging Rousey? I guess we’ll find out soon.
What it also means is that Cat Zingano must not be ready after her knee injury and unfortunate tragedy that happened with the passing of her husband.
