The first episode of this series was a bit boring and left a lot to be desired. Let’s hope they can raise their game with these next two episodes.
Here’s the UFC Primetime: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks recap for episode two (video of full episode at the bottom):
Firas Zahabi says people mistook his statement about Georges retiring without any new challenges. He said he tells all his fighters to retire if they have no drive or challenges.
Georges meets one of his idols, Shokei Matsui who is a karate legend. Matsui immediately notices how much heavier Hendricks is than GSP.
The conversation turns to Hendricks and his family. His wife didn’t want to go out with him because he was a fighter and on their first date, she texted her friends his license plate number. And of course, he has three daughters. She said he is the nicest guys and then transforms into fighter.
Firas says Hendricks’ left is a gift and it’s their job to avoid it and counter it. Hendricks says GSP hasn’t fought anyone as powerful as him and who has as good of wrestling as him. He says his wrestling is much better than GSP’s wrestling.
Thoughts: I guess we’ve really learned all we can learn about GSP. But Hendricks is interesting because we don’t know that much about him. That being said, there’s nothing really eventful about this show yet. They’re missing the entire reason why they have this special. The small portions where Hendricks says GSP can’t take him down is the only real fight hype.
