So far, the Primetime series hasn’t been all that necessary. Hopefully, they can hit a home run with the last episode.
Here’s the episode 3 UFC Primetime: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos recap:
Javier Mendez took a lot of the trash talking from Junior’s coaches personally. Daniel Cormier says that you don’t forget the kind of beating Junior took.
Junior had a smelling the roses moment, thinking back to how he grew up, and then opening up a box from Nike which made him his own shoe. Junior and his team are very confident. Maybe even a tad overconfident.
Let’s see, what else is going on?
– Cain likes cars.
– Junior had to take an eye test and his diet consisted of sweet potatoes and cottage cheese for one meal.
– Cain is more quiet come fight time because it’s more manly to not be so expressive.
– Junior says Cain couldn’t finish him and says it’s hard to finish Junior, but not so hard to finish Cain.
And that was it. I personally think it was a waste to do the series and in comparison to the recent 24/7 on the Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez and of course, the All Access special on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez fight, this wasn’t anywhere close when it came to story telling, production, or creating hype. It’s probably the worst one I’ve seen thus far.
However, the fight itself is compelling and I’m looking forward to it. This series didn’t enhance that in any way.
