The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey Vs. Team Tate – Episode 3 Recap

Rousey vs. Tate

Even though she lost, I still hope Shayna Bazler gets into the UFC. She definitely deserves to be there. But WAR Julianna Pena man. Her robotic striking may eventually be her downfall, but she hits hard.

For Rousey vs. Tate episode 3, it’s Chris Holdsworth vs. Chris Beal.

Miesha brought Julianna a milk shake and Shayna a piece of chocolate cake after the fight. Miesha said Shayna was her idol when she started fighting.

Ronda tells her team that you grow from losing and you maintain when you win. She also says to not be emotional in the cage and that the reason she took Miesha down so easily is because Miesha was emotional. Ronda says she’s confident and calculated. She also said that Miesha’s team isn’t confident because they picked Neal who has a bad hand.

Team Tate thinks that Julianna told Team Rousey what they were thinking about for the girls’ match-ups because she’s already fought and was hanging out with Team Rousey.

Chris Holdsworth says he got into MMA after watching Royce Gracie make his comeback against Matt Hughes. He mentioned an older brother who is his inspiration, but who was shot to death when he was just eight years old.

Holdsworth and Julianna are crushing on each other a bit.

Chris Neal also has an older brother who was shot thirteen times and didn’t make it.

All the fighters and coaches got together at the Red Rock to watch UFC Brazil. Miesha told Ronda that she couldn’t hit pads very well. Miesha’s boyfriend Bryan Caraway made a tweet over a year ago suggesting that he was going to knock Ronda’s teeth out. Ronda’s coach got in his face about it. Caraway is never going to live that down.

Chris Beal vs. Chris Holdsworth

Holdsworth with the early nut kick to start the fight. Beal looks super uncomfortable standing which is surprising. Holdsworth’s length looks to be bothering him. After a lead right, Holdsworth went for the takedown and got it. Beal got up and Holdsworth went for the takedown again, but Beal turned him over and was on top for a second. Holdwsorth was on the bottom and grabbed an arm. Holdsworth looks to be bleeding from the nose. Beal’s walking right into the right hand. He moved left, right into Holdsworth’s right hand and he went to the ground. Holdsworth put him into a guillotine and he tapped out.

Winner: Chris Holdsworth by way of 1st round TKO

For being a striker, Beal had shitty boxing.

Miesha picks Roxanne Modafferi vs. Jessica Rakoczy. It’s grappling vs. striking again.
