Showtime have put together this terrific package reviewing the Super Six up to this point, and previewing the final group stage match ups. With just one fight left each, it’s still all to play for with only Andre Ward assured of a place in the knockout phase of the tournament.
We will be taking a look ahead to stage 3 and previewing each of the match ups individually over the coming weeks here at FGB.
25th of September
Allan Green vs. Mikkel Kessler
Andre Ward vs. Andre Dirrell
2nd of October
Carl Froch vs. Arthur Abraham
Andre Ward all the way.
I have said from the beginning of this tournament that I felt Dirrell was the better of the two young American prospects, and he would beat Ward should they meet. Well, now it’s time to test that theory.
I have to disagree with you Duan, however time is up and like I said many times I feel Ward has superior skills compared to Dirrell. In my opinion, we will see Dirrell run and jab to a decision loss on Sept. 25th. I also got Kessler over Green by K.O. and I got Froch over Abraham by decision.
Here some very good reasons why Poochiao would not stand a chance beating Floyd $Money$ May:

It’s gonna be (Eazzy Work!!!), just like De La Hoya said.
Enjoy the links. =)
Andre Ward may have some flaws and weakness in his fighting style but I believe his strength and agility is enough to make this an easy job for him.
Hey David.
Good to see you back on the site. I think we are in agreement on the other 2 fights. Certainly the Kessler one anyway. I’m still deciding on Froch/Abraham.
Pacquiao vs Margarito
I think people tend to underrate Dirrell, and he really needs this one. Ward is already through, he may get caught with his eye off the ball.
Where is Ward/Dirrell happening? Do we even know yet?
I don’t think they have finalized a venue yet. I honestly don’t know how they got Ward the deal he got. Despite being completely unproven going into this tournament, and not being a colossal ticket seller, he never once had to go abroad once in the group stages.
Your right Duan, Ward has not gone outside of the U.S. It would be interesting how he would preform on someone else’s backyard.
Well, you know why they did that. Because he’ll sell 12,000 tickets in Oakland every time he fights.
Arthur can probably sell 3 times that number. He still had to fight Dirrell away, and that made zero business sense.
But they want a US presence. Since 3 of them are foreign and only 1 can draw in the US, that’s why they want him there.
a fair point
If all were fair, none of these fights would be in the US. But at the very least, Ward can draw in his hometown.
I’d like to see them move the fight to San Jose away from Oakland. Maybe I just hate Oakland. Ha!
