Strikeforce Sets Up Nick Diaz Vs. KJ Noons For October 9

The October 9th San Jose Strikeforce card will be headlined by Nick Diaz vs. KJ Noons in a rematch, according to the press release that Strikeforce just sent out. They are marketing the fight as, “The Rematch You’ve All Been Waiting For”.

In the semi-main, Sarah Kaufman will make the second defense of her 135-pound title against Marloes Coenen, while Miesha Tate waits in line after winning the four-woman tournament earlier this month.

Also on the card so far is Luke Rockhold in his biggest match thus far, against MMA veteran Matt Lindland.

  1. hmmm this is an interesting one. Noons seemed to have Diaz number last time out, but Nick has definitely got better since then. I’m not so sure the same can be said about Noons.

  2. Thing is, Diaz will never get close enough to Noons to even allow Noons to throw that left hook. He’s done a much better job lately at being able to use his wingspan and kicks to keep distance. Though, Noons has the power to connect at any time. I think it’s a strong fight. But they need to do some major build-up. That fight was like 2 years ago.
