I thought this was a pretty terrible show to be honest/ The only redeeming thing about it was that Renzo was briefly featured.
I would still love it if hard smashes him.
What many people are not talking about is the psychological dimension to the match. If we presume that GSP has been practicing his standup for months, while Hardy has been practicing his lie-down, it’s inconceivable to think this matchup is going to be over quickly. I would wager that what will, in the end, most characterize this fight, will be the mental: GSP mastering the traces of his fear of being knocked down, and Hardy channeling his underdog fury with wisdom, rather than brash explosiveness.
For me, the odds truly do seem to be 50/50.
GSP matches never end quickly though.
Ask yourself this question. Is BJ Penn’s stand-up better than Dan Hardy’s? Ok, ask yourself another question. Is Jon Fitch’s wrestling better than Dan Hardy’s? And finally, ask yourself a third question. Is Thiago Alves’ ground game better than Dan Hardy’s? If the answer is yes to all those questions (and it should be), then GSP shouldn’t have much problem with Hardy. It will be a major humping.
