Floyd Mayweather Jr. Is Going To End His Retirement
We all knew this was coming right? And this is all good for boxing right?
According to Dan Rafael and many others, Money May is coming out of his short retirement to fight lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez who was in boxing’s best fight of 2009 against Juan Diaz earlier this year.
The fight is scheduled for July 18 at the MGM Grand and will be on PPV through HBO.
The fight will supposedly be fought at 144 pounds, which is 9 pounds heavier than Marquez’s fighting weight.
With Ricky Hatton vs. Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Juan Manuel Marquez as the next two big fights, we have a little bit of an idea where things may go.
Tim Starks and I talked about this very subject last night on our preview to Pacquiao/Hatton on the latest episode of FGB Radio.
Update: It looks like the fight will be now at 143.
Also, Bad Left Hook put up a picture of Mayweather and Marquez standing toe to toe.
