“Playboy” Buddy Rose found dead
Fight Game Blog is saddened to hear of the passing of Playboy Buddy Rose, real name Paul Perschmann.
According to F4W/Wrestlingobserver, he was found dead today by his wife at his home in Portland, Oregon. We still don’t know the cause but apparently he’s been having issues controlling his blood sugar. Rose was a known diabetic.
Buddy was known as one of the mid to top stars in the AWA and all along the northwest promotions. Rose also had a run in the WWF and will be most remembered as the masked “Excecutioner”, wrestling Tito Santana in the very first match of the very first Wrestlemania. Other than that, most current fans will remember his work on AWA (since ESPN has shown AWA Classics) with his tag team partner Doug Somers. He was involved in a blood feud in the mid 80s with the Midnight Rockers – Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty. This was one of the first major feuds of HBK’s career.
On behalf of myself, GG, Alan, Duan, and all who contribute to FGB, we send our condolences to the family of Mr. Perschmann.
